While the class is happily encouraging miss Jones to text Alexander and ask for a date, Alexander is crouching down in some alley.
Not resting after an intense gun fight or a fist fight with a low level superhuman, no he is just doing what he normally does which is talk to random animals.
Cassandra is casually leaning against the entrance of this alley and Alexander is crouched down talking to some rats… yup, just rats, wild rats in the streets of Farlong.
Not even magic rats or anything, not even fey or spirits, just rats; Cassandra can’t get over some of the strange parts of her partner.
This would not be so strange for her if he just actually used magic, but no; this guy is talking normally to random normal wild rats in some alley…
And he has been doing this for all the years he has been her partner, he talks with any pigeon, crow, rat or cat that he spots at the scene of crimes.
Not that he gets any information from them, not that he is actually communicating with them, because that would require magic… which he is not using.
Cassandra sighs to herself as Alexander continues “interrogating” the animals, which are just kind of paying attention to him… mostly because he is in their territory.
If you are wondering then people have seen this action of his before, but he excused it by saying this is one of the ways Nightknight keeps an eye out for people.
That the rats, crows, pigeons and other vermin are used as surveillance; which is partially true, but also definitely a lie, covering up his real intentions.
One thing that Cassandra has noticed from his “conversations” with crows specifically, is that he always asks them if they are “Augin”.
She does not know who or what “Augin” is, but Alexander said it was a creature belonging to some strong dude and Alexander wanted to find this “Augin”… not the strong dude.
After a very useless “interrogation” of random Farlong rats, this being the some hundreth time he has done this with no success.
Cassandra hurries the silly man into the car and drives away in Cassandra’s personal car which she uses for police work… the other cars always break.
Not that she is the problem, she is just partially the problem… like her bad luck which gets her in accident all the time while driving.
Though this does not happen in her own Ciaofe car, which is some Italian brand sports car… which is not very family friendly but has room for one extra person so it works for now.
The reason it does not get in accidents as much is a mystery, it might just counteract the bad luck curse with its own curse… which she does not know what is.
On the subject of cars though, Alexander has also mentioned that he is considering buying a nine seater mini buss if he ever gets a big bonus for anything.
Not that it is super necessary, but they can’t apprehend criminals without calling for a pick up, nor can they drive more people around with Cassandra’s two seater.
Plus there are a couple of teens that might need some late night pick ups, yup he is thinking about doing it for the cute super kids… which is what he thinks they are.
If you were thinking that they never will need this then Alexander would laugh in your face, they can’t always teleport everywhere.
And what about when Chad dies? What will they do then? Will David bring people all over with his wings that can almost teleport? Obviously he does not have time for that.
David has work to do as Brightman and when he does that who will bring Chameleon/Charlotte back from her late night heroics?… this is what Alexander thinks about.
Away from that topic for a while, definitely not trying to ignore the thoughts of Alexander or anything… just want to mention this other super interesting thing.
…Um… So, um… While Alexander did things that will never be mentioned again, Cassandra was over thinking ALL the things she possibly can.
What does she do about this dude, the relationship she has with him, what if they get together? There are many worries she has about what might be.
Things that she never had before, she would never freak this much out about some dude before, not saying this is bad.
This is just another human aspect she has regained from her absurd childhood that took away a lot of her humanity, this was another step towards a happy future.
The two awesome cops return to the thirty third precinct AKA the secret base of the Three swords organization which is a monster hunting organization.
Whose goal is to protect humanity against monsters… that was obvious. What is not obvious is that David has family in this organization.
This family connection also brought him closer to many of his childhood friends, which by law I need to mention are not as cool as Chad… Chad is the coolest.(kill me)
Either way, after entering the “secret” base the legendary cops are met with a lot of cops rushing back and forth working on many cases, some magical and some normal.
There are also people here who work and don’t know this is a secret monster hunter base, Alexander knew for reasons which is why he even joined this place in the first place.
Ignoring the many other cops who feel both jealous, angry, happy or other strange emotions towards them, they quickly find a super cute girl… and dump all their work on her desk.
Linda Farlong stares at them annoyed, a psychic which used to read the mind of Alexander so he can skip having to write reports and let her do it, also secretly the sister of Farmind.
He used to throw half his pay at her and tell her to write his reports for her, but after the captain found out he just gave her a raise and made it part of her normal work.
Alexander should not have to give up his pay check to just make his work easier, he needs freedom to chase down superhumans and monsters.
