A world without superheroes…

On a night not like any other… OK I am getting traumatic clown-troupe flashbacks… On a stormy night… it got worse, the clown-troupe has really fucked me up…
A moment where the author loses his mind, storms rage across Farlong heralding the age of chaos, a sign for what is to come for young Chad in his castle.
While rain batters the window to the tower bedroom that Chad sleeps in, a rare night where Nyarai did not sleep in his room… because she is awkward about what was said.
Chad sits up in his bed, an odd magical atmosphere in the room, not the normal magical atmosphere, light seems odd for his eyes and sounds are deeper than they should be…
Wait how can sound be deep? While Chad absentmindedly sits up in his chair, books open on the desk which he had been working at and a candle giving light by burning in magic flames.
A moment where Chad stares out into the clear skies… The sun shines in through the stormy clouds, thunder reverberates through the sunlight and mist… Chad is confused and sleepy.

Rubbing his eyes and stretching a little Chad realizes that he is not in his room, he stares off into the distance in confusion wondering what dream or spirit journey this is.
Until he realizes that he is not dreaming or on a spiritual journey, his eyes focus; fate unravels and is absorbed like water being poured into his calm lake eyes.
On an apocalyptic dry wasteland like field, “dust” clouds cover the strange sky that seems to be burning… or glowing? Lightning and thunder appear from the “dust” clouds.
With a loud noise in the background Chad stands calmly in the hell hole that he found himself in and divines the past, present and future like an oracle ahead of his time.
In a couple of seconds Chad has had multiple changes to his facial expression, realizing just how fucked his situation is so equips his Nightknight armor with a thought.

Nightknight in all his glory, darkness covers his existence and he stares off into the “dust” clouds defying the fate that is coming down on him.
The “dust” clouds churn as lightning and thunder scream itself into existence, color filled fire burns in the “dust” clouds together with the sparks of lightning.
The black knight stands confronting the powers of nature that is bearing down on him, but he disappeared before they can touch him.
A second later on the surface of the Moon appears the black knight, Nightknight having decided to retreat to the Moon and figure out what to do.
Staring down on the EARTH, all the landmasses that he is familiar with, the seas that he is familiar with… with some slight changes.
It has not been perfectly preserved the way he remembers, it has been ravaged by wars that almost eliminated humanity, only specks of it remain like cockroaches.
He stand alone on the white Moon staring down on the hellish Earth, “dust” clouds cover large areas of it, some places are covered in “fog?” or “smoke?”…
The chaos “dust” field he appeared in was only one of the three extreme danger zones of Earth, the chaos “smoke” field and chaos “fog” field are the other two.

With stars dotting the sky, standing alone on the Moon staring down on the broken Earth Nightknight feels something that he has never felt before… something he can’t describe.
Flashes of lightning stretch across the “dust” clouds on Earth in search of the superhuman which escaped, the lightning continues traveling into the “smoke” field and “fog” field.
There seems to be natural powers that hunt and destroy superhumans on Earth, Nightknight being too strong and fast to be caught or injured.
Despairingly staring at the lightning hunt after him across the Earth, more and more lightning spreads out like thunder snakes wanting to devour gods.
The armor of Nightknight becomes a little darker, but not in a visible color way, but in a conceptual magic kind of way. A darkening of Nightknight’s armor.
Days go by while Nightknight sits alone on the Moon just staring at the Earth, motioning sometimes with his hands drawing some form of magic.
Times flies as Nightknight works in complete silence, his insanity having grown much stronger during this time, but he would never tell anybody of that.
It is strange how quickly he breaks when Brightman is not here, alone without Chameleon or Hellbitch… he would even accept Enchantress at this time.
He would almost accept anybody as long as they could take his mind off of these thoughts, as long as he can drown his darkness and sorrows in love and light…

After figuring out what to do and how to do it, Nightknight takes a walk across Earth and mourns what happened, having decided to leave this space and time.
After having gathered all the knowledge he could and praying for the lives of the people of Earth, Nightknight waits a little longer than he probably should have.
This Earth is not his Earth, it seems to be a parallel world mirroring his world, the difference being this world has little to no superhumans.
Not that none are born in this world, it is just that fate in this world hunts them down and so does the other powers of nature…
It is almost impossible for superhumans to grow to adulthood in this world, so Nightknight does not know what to feel about the state this Earth has gotten itself into.
He takes a couple of deep breaths and activates his extreme space/time magic to escape the bounds of this world, shattering the fade and other natural defences.
Nightknight appears back in his castle staring at his bed and noticing Nyarai sleeping on it… not remembering her being here tonight, not that anytime has gone by.
Taking off the armor and getting back into the bed even though there is no way for him to sleep anymore tonight, Nyarai mutters a question about where he went.
He answers that he went to check the core spell of the castle and she accepts it knowing that he does that sometimes when he stops the castle from exploding.
