A day like any other, a day that needs no date, a day that could have been at anytime during January… though probably after the other things that happened this January.
On a day that was most likely after 10th of January, in the classroom of the first freshman class in Forlong private school.
This school literally calls their classes first, second, third and so on… So first class freshman, second class senior, first class junior and such…
In the first class freshman classroom, AKA the classroom of the main characters; Chad is currently handing out food/snacks for Chad reasons.
Chad reasons being: lost a bet, likes this person, hates this person, you’re cool, nice hat and such… this is a common event in the first class freshman class.
The other classmates have gotten used to it, it being Chad’s intense focus on food and how that plays out in social interactions.
It has actually gotten a little out of hand to the point where people use snacks as payment for favors, betting and other activities.
It has become common place for snacks to be exchanged at big volume between certain high level players… AKA some rich kids dumped a truck load of snacks onto school property.
The teachers did not know what to do with this event, it has obviously gotten out of hand in some classrooms, first class freshman class being the main problem.
But is this really that bad? It is actually a very childish gang system in the school, it is much better than the students pushing drugs on each other.
So Chad has had some long lasting and far spreading effects on this school, you may even have noticed that Alice/miss Jones is also guilty of using this system.
She might have even been one of the reasons that this corrupt system came to be, she would many times bribe Chad with snacks for his help.
Of course when other people realized that you could bribe Chad with snacks, things got out of hand in less than a week… but that was months ago.
Now it is just a bartering system and a way to easily show care/love for others, Chad would constantly show up and in a very drug dealer like way sneak snacks into people’s hands…
And abusing this system will get a pissed off Chad at your front door, you can not force a deal on somebody that they do not want to agree on.
You can not underpay or flood the market, if that happens then a type of snack will lose all value… Chad takes this a little too seriously.
BTW David and Charlotte have been using this system long before it became a widespread thing at school, people noticed this and of course wanted to use it.
Who does not want to make silly small candy deals with Charlotte?! It is like taking candy from a baby, except that that would get you killed by Chad.
Even the popular girls in first class uses the system, this system in some ways should not works as any of these kids are rich and can easily flood the school with snacks.
But giving snacks to each other in a limited quantity, only what you yourself can carry is oddly nice… It shows a strange amount of care and favour.
And it is a strange inexpensive way to do it, which would normally be seen with derision as these kids are rich and they will show it!
There were actually people who did that, but no matter how much the complained about it or tried to mess with the system, it still stands.
It might even be stronger than ever, nobody would accept snacks from douchebags, even if you could give somebody snacks why would they accept it from a loser?
So it quickly found its way into social interactions, it was a quick way of testing the social political skills of these would be magnates/world leaders.
Those that adapted to this system had their influence quickly grow while those that did not had theirs shrink… it was oddly effective.
The actual value of goods meant little to nothing, but the feelings of people and their connections did; so some that seemed less skilled/rich suddenly rose up.
People with great social skills and many connections got more and more well known, this system showed the social power/diplomatic skill difference.
It was not about preconceived power anymore, now you could actually see the social nets that some of these kids built and some did obviously better than others.
Some “powerful” rich kids were shown to have little to no connections even if they have a strong family and background.
Even if it seemed that they did well socially you can never know people hearts, this was a blow to these kids; they thought that they were on top, but they were just getting used.
Not many people actually seemed to put these people in their eyes, not many would stand up for them or support them, people would just pretend to…
Ignoring the far reaching impact of Chad’s snack mafia, let’s go and talk about Alexander for a couple of seconds… why you ask? Well Alexander is also very involved in this, no joke.
There have been moments where David and Charlotte started thinking that Alexander might just be Chad from the future or be related to him.
Alexander has this thing where he always carries snacks on his person, Cassandra always thought this was weird, but when he handed it out to distraught people she accepted it.
Alexander would very often give some to crying children or even random adults that just seem lost in the storm of life… Alexander is a treasure of humanity.
Either way, Alexander would very often give snacks to Chad pretty much every time he sees him, he would also do this to Charlotte and Cassandra and other super people.
But it looks a little different when he does it to David where he starts praying right afterwards and treating it like an offering to Brightman…
This also became THE WAY of giving snacks to David, David can’t stop people from doing it; Selina also does it, but with way less confidence as she is super cursed…
